LAWS OF THE GAME - SETTING A MARK
It seems that quite a number of clubs & bowlers believe a new rule came into force that if the 1st bowler bowls the jack and they do not think they have set a mark ie:- not 19 metres, that they are entitled to retrieve the jack and once more try to set a mark. THEY ARE WRONG, BY ADMITTING THEY DO NOT THINK THEY HAVE SET A MARK THEY CAN PICK THE JACK UP, BUT MUST HAND IT TO THEIR OPPONENT TO TRY AND SET A MARK FOR YOU. I HAVE BEEN A DELEGATE TO THE B.C.G.B.A. FOR OVER 34 YEARS AND HAVE ATTENDING ANNUALLY FOR THAT PERIOD THE RULES REVISION MEETINGS OF THE B.C.G.B.A. AND AT NO TIME HAS THEIR BEEN A RULE TO CHANGE.
