Obviously the announcement regarding isolation means that until this restriction is relaxed the green will not be open.We have decided to delay any opening until at least the beginning of June unless anything changes before then. We will review this decision then to see if the bowling green can be used for either social or league games. If any leagues decide to start again, at the moment the Stoke on Trent and the Newcastle mid week are the only ones looking at bowling this season. They are hoping to start some form of leagues towards the end of June possibly playing on other days to catch up.
The pub have decided that while they are closed the toilets will be out of use and they are turning off the electricity and water supplies. This means that if they don't open we would find it very difficult to use the green. So even if the leagues decide to start up if the pub is still closed we will not be able to play. The car park is planned to be resurfaced, starting this week so there will be no access to the green while this is being done. When it is finished, which should not take long we can use it to carry out any maintenance work down the green. If you are thinking of going down the green to do any jobs please let me know first.

LAWS OF THE GAME - SETTING A MARK
It seems that quite a number of clubs & bowlers believe a new rule came into force that if the 1st bowler bowls the jack and they do not think they have set a mark ie:- not 19 metres, that they are entitled to retrieve the jack and once more try to set a mark. THEY ARE WRONG, BY ADMITTING THEY DO NOT THINK THEY HAVE SET A MARK THEY CAN PICK THE JACK UP, BUT MUST HAND IT TO THEIR OPPONENT TO TRY AND SET A MARK FOR YOU. I HAVE BEEN A DELEGATE TO THE B.C.G.B.A. FOR OVER 34 YEARS AND HAVE ATTENDING ANNUALLY FOR THAT PERIOD THE RULES REVISION MEETINGS OF THE B.C.G.B.A. AND AT NO TIME HAS THEIR BEEN A RULE TO CHANGE.
LATEST ON THE PARKING
No change we still need to continue to use the permits as last season
with a maximum of five cars using the carpark at any one time.
UNLESS WE DO THIS WE HAVE BEEN TOLD WE MAY BE STOPPED FROM USING THE CARPARK.
